Seogwipo - An island paradise

Hey everyone!

We have arrived on the island and it is beautiful. It took us 30 hours to get here and it was all worth it. We have been able to visit the city of Seogwipo for three days now and we like it a lot. We have been able to visit the ocean, the markets and have walked around some of the city. It is very interresting. The only problem is that we do not speak the language. We are learning some korean a bit at a time. It is very interesting.

As for our work, it is going to be very new. We have been to the school a few times and have met some of the teachers. Everyone is nice and helpful. Our supervisor has been very helpful and he even got us our bank account all ready. We have already moved into an apartment and have made it home. Although we may have another option for an apartment, we'll figure it out in the next few days. Today we will shadow some classes and then tommorrow we have a day of orientation. The big day is Thursday. We will get our own classes. It should be interesting and a lot of hard work.

We'll be in touch soon!

3 jours ...

Salut tout le monde/Hello everybody,

So we leave in three days, Friday at 7:55 AM and arrive on the other side of world, 1 day later (Saturday at 9:30 PM) with 20 hours of flying beneath our flings. We are both very excited and can't wait to get to Korea. We hope to visit the island of Jeju-do for the first three months and quietly settle in. I can't wait to live by the coast for a year. I hope I can go to the market everyday to get a fresh piece of fish.

Please view the links we have put up. The link Yale Academy shows you the school we will be teaching at. You can also find information on the island of Jeju-do and the city of Seogwipo where we will be staying. Ths city has a population of 85,000. You can find some information on the national parks and beaches that you can find when you guys all come visit. We will have our own apartment to host our friends. We have trying to learn a bit of Korean but it's not going to be easy. We hope to take some classes.

We will put up some photos of our apartment and our view once we settle in.

Anyonghi keseyo!
